Enjoy Great Ferry travel On the Channel

Posted by: ferries | August 30, 2010 | No Comment |

I recall when I used be a kid there was clearly no such thing as cheap ferries to France from Dover, as far I came to know from my dad. I think that’s the reason we had numerous holidays in Hayling Island instead. But seriously, what exactly are your choices? Well, an example of 2 adults using a van sized motorhome, like Trigano Tribute travelling from Dover to France in the month of June, 2010 can help to explain some tips to you. Cheap ferries to France involves three main competitors like SeaFrance, the big one and P&O that offers Dover-Calais sailings and the smaller Norfolkline who do Dover-Dunkirk. So my comparisons for these leading companies are as follows: I tried to board the SeaFrance on their 12:30 am ferry for which they charged £ 48-75, as the length of the vehicle was 5.82m. I also tried P&O ferries who were interested in the height as well as the length. I put in 2m, but I probably should have gone higher up to about 2.2m as there is a slightly raised roof on the Trigano Tribute. Even so the fare came out as £43-75 on the 13:45 ferry. Finally, I preferred to go with Norfolkline, not just because they are cheap, but because their staffs are relaxed and helpful. I’ve very often arrived on the ferry port late or early and they have to put it simply me on the next available ferry with no hassle. So these are it, just use Norfolkline for cheap ferries to France from Dover.

Channel crossing by Cheap ferries for France

Posted by: ferries | February 23, 2010 | No Comment |
I want to Cross the channel for France from Dover to Dunkirk on a brand new Norfolkline cross channel ferry with good value fares. In fact, I was lucky enough to get an offer, which enabled me to save money for shopping on board.
After surfing net, I surged to travel for France by cheap ferries. To pen down details, from Dunkerque port you can travel to Europe by getting connected to A16 and A25 motorways. This route is highly comfortable for motor passengers who wish to travel Paris and beyond.
Dover-Dunkerque route is much preferred because the time taken to reach Belgium and Holland and Germany and Switzerland is very less. These roads are calm and silent and have less traffic.
At the Dover port, the passenger terminal is well equipped with facilities to serve their loyalist. The service at the Dunkerque terminal is of superior quality, a huge lounge areas are created for the passengers comfort and special facilities are extended to the physically challenged ones.
At the terminals, a snack bar ‘La Véranda’ is made available, with food and non-alcoholic drinks, this is kept open for visitors for 8 hours a day, from Saturday through Thursday. On board, the passengers are served with style and grandeur and elegance. Passengers can have a massage from a professional driven massage parlour with no oil for just 10 minutes and one thing is for sure, this massage shall rejuvenate him/her to the rest of his/her journey on board.
Several services for all class of passengers cutting across all age groups have been made available. Specific areas have been designated for the motorists and freight drivers on board whilst travelling.
You can gather a detailed information from the brochure about the trip

Norfolkline Operators get Marketing Initiative Award

Posted by: ferries | December 9, 2009 | No Comment |

Norfolkline ferries sail across Europe on four significant routes and I keep do travelling across British channel by their Maesrk Dunkerque fleet a highly mechanised ferry with great comfort and luxury on board facilities. This ferry to France visits Dunkerque a most historic place associated with the World wars happenings beyond half a decade ago and this place has attached greater importance to its freight carriers visiting the port and is claimed as the famous freight services and placed third in order in Europe. This route connects the Dover port of United Kingdom with Dunkerque port, France.

Other famous routes to my notice are Scotland- Zeebrugee route, Irish route, and the North Sea operations and to every one surprise Norfolkline ferries has been spotted among the ferry operators and awarded with the best dedicated services at varied fares cutting across all class spectrum. Cat’s curiosity further pulled me to know the entire story coverage.

Tourism counters a strong source of economic generation and the in-flows and the out flows are so rapid to image the vibrant effects produced and can be well measured in figures. These figures account for the economic development, the tourism development of a place and the social importance it gains over a period and at times I feel this image slaughter and dominate other nearby places. Any way, Northern Ireland tourism has roped to all the communities contributing their part to be explored and get recognised as the world class destination and the dream of Northern Ireland doesn’t seem to be a distant dream.

Norfolkine ferries got a mark of recognition to the initiative this company has undertaken to get a closer access to their passengers not only on board but also beyond. A spokesman in an informal chat has let out some of the contributions dealt by the company to their passengers. These contributions recorded significant value in terms of service and drew the attention of the entire award fraternity to honour Norfolkline ferry operating across the Irish Sea. These contributions extended were in the field of Marketing Initiative category and this they received for the efforts in the e-marketing, creative design and the customer service.

Elaine Jackson, Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator at Norfolkline Irish Sea and Peter Higgins from Walker Communications accepted the award on behalf of Norfolkline.  Pau022l O’Toole, Tourism Ireland and Kathryn Thomson, Northern Ireland Tourist Board presented the award.
In fact, Speaking at the ceremony, NITB Chairman Howard Hastings said: “I am proud of the ever increasing standards in tourism right across Northern Ireland and would like to extend my congratulations to all the winners here this evening.

With such awards and recognisations to the contributors of tourism does make them get a degree of contentment and inspire to progress further.

You can choose cheap ferries  for travelling in an economical way with full of pleasure.

GET SET FOR HOLIDAYING AFTER PROPER PREPARATION.

Posted by: ferries | October 28, 2009 | No Comment |

I crossed the channel by cheap ferries across the channel crossing to holidaying in France. I understood it a time consuming yet a comfortable journey on board. My knowledge about the fun and frolic in Paris to eat, to drink and to relax was the image I possessed till then and after some particulars has clearly comforted me. Of late, after surfing net, it jerked me to freak out on a holiday and rock in the mainland of Europe. Before I begin my journey, I decided to follow steps, which would make my journey comfortable peaceful and calm.

I felt map could assist me and enable me to interact and get to the desired city and this gave me a hope to reach with great enthusiasm and drive confidence to understand places and people well. My desire to make a self drive tour, I sourced through the travel and distance calculator, which gave me the exact distance between places of my visit and time it would draw while travelling along Paris, Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon and Le Harve.

I contacted the Paris guide and read very meticulously each and every residence by thousands of visitors and good budgeting and the basic criteria and the conditions to be followed before they leave for their tour.

I got the list of all the French cities frequented with hustling and activities and happenings and this boosted up my energy levels while travelling. If you get through the geography of the Europe, you will find the France coastline, bordered with Atlantic sea and the Mediterranean Sea and strips along coast turned to beaches and they do make a magnificent spots for picnic. Don’t forget to get all the relevant data for their visits, those timing and visiting hours by road, rail, bus and coaches. This detailed study did help me to avoid the delays to get connected to the places. I peeped onto the map and gained knowledge of all those border places around France. As I toured these border lands the inhabitants did show the influence of Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland. And I understood over practical experience it is not difficult to cross over to these nations as after the unification of currency, several rules and regulations have been relaxed for travellers. Bearing in mind these factors, you travel by ferry to France and back and sure to make a holiday a comfortable one.

One interesting feature I did like to share with my readers, a corporate which is huge and expanding by leaps and bounds does co-ordinate with various faculty and disciplines to get the best output and get awarded for their rendered services. Here, I do like to highlight a few activities published in one the ferries by name Norfolkline’s publication hosted on internet.

I was searching after a publication which speaks about the internal relationship maintained between the employees and the employer and the level of recognition and the awards raised for their employees on their dedicated services. And their degree of involvement for the community they are related to.

But, from this journal, I read the commitment and dedication shown by the stewards on duty and their extended services contributed leapt by an appreciation letter drafted by passengers on their commitment at work.

To begin with, two stewards on board of ferries that shuttle across the cross channel from Dover Port to Dunkerque port met with unexpected task on and off duty. Both displayed good hospitality to their customers and went ahead beyond their line of duty, an act of courtesy. I would call their acts have been brought to the notice of the entire Norfolkline ferry employees and well greeted for their presence of mind shows the company’s concern for their employees.

Maise, a 10 yrs old passenger on board forgot the bag, her birthday gift at the IKEA restaurant. Her parents reported the incident at the reception and immediately, Isabelle (steward) gave an electronic mail to the IKEA about the missing baggage. Before the ferry reached the Dover port, the missing bag was identified and from the store of IKEA it was handed over to that poor darling. Child’s cheerful face eclipsed all. That happened a few days later and the company authorities received an appreciation letter from their customers.

Another exiting incident took place; Mark devoted an extra time after his duty to a couple travelling through Dover for camping in Germany and the vehicle, which they held was Mobile vehicle.

Troubled couple asked for direction to the dealership and Mark could guide them as it falls on his way to town. To their disappointment the dealership was found closed and looked highly distressed. Here, it is when Mark took the lead and had shown KwiK-Fit in Ashford and that added luck to them.

Such a selfless act was recognised at the Journal published at the Norfolkline.

On a broader perspective a company of such a huge profile identifying the acts of individual at a personal level is worth commendable.
